Providing Cox Method Gentle Adjustments
The Cox Method is a type of chiropractic treatment that is known for its gentle approach to spinal adjustments. This method is specifically designed to help alleviate pain and discomfort in the back and neck, and it focuses on restoring the normal motion and alignment of the spine.
Why do I need Chiropractic services?
At PT & Chiro of Miami, we have developed a unique treatment methodology that emphasizes clients’ active involvement through therapeutic exercises, self-care strategies, and improved awareness of healthy behaviors gained through education. Our Chiropractor specializes in Cox Technic, an evidence-based spinal manipulation with a rich history of clinical and biomechanical research efforts, including studies conducted in laboratories with federal grants and in private practices, where practitioners have demonstrated a strong desire to show what is possible with non-surgical, chiropractic spine care for various spine conditions.
What is the "no crack" type of adjustment?
Dr. Hudson specializes in the Cox method Flexion/Distraction technique.
Cox Method uses a specialized table with segments which unlock and float, allowing the patient to receive the adjustment in a soft and gentle way. The patient is strapped onto the table, then the spine is elongated, and the vertebrae may be safely adjusted in all three planes of movement. At PT & Chiro of Miami, we utilize the Cox® Table which offers great stability and support, allowing us to make fluid and effective adjustments. Most adjustments do not hurt and the patient will feel instant relief, however, the severity of inflammation will play a role in the resistance to an adjustment. Evidence-based Cox® Technic is appropriate for conditions causing low back and leg pain as well as neck and arm pain.
It also reduces pain attributable to:
- Disc herniation
- Slipped disc
- Ruptured disc
- Facet syndrome
- Stenosis Spondylolisthesis
- Other conditions
Dr Hudson typically sees only two patients per hour.
This is very different than what you find in most chiropractic offices. Proper body-work takes understanding of the how a patients individual body will respond and Dr. Hudson is very thoughtful with his method. Along with the Cox adjustment extra time is spent doing various modalities which may include manual therapy, trigger point massage, myofascial release, Acupuncture, spinal decompression, Class IV laser, Neuropuncture, or Shockwave. We have a lot of options in this office and specialize the treatment plan to each individual patients needs and goals.
