Manual Therapy

Manual therapy is an application of hands-on techniques by skilled clinicians to manipulate your soft tissues, joints, and nerves. Manual therapy is important for multiple body systems and is proven to be effective in decreasing your pain and tissue tension, improving quality of movement, and guiding patients through their exercises.

Instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM)

Here at PTC we use this technique we often use in physical therapy. IASTM works like a standard massage, but specialized instruments are used in place of a physical therapist’s hands. These instruments allow more direct treatment of the soft tissues involved with movement. The tissues include:

  • Muscles
  • Fascia, connective tissue that surrounds and separates muscles
  • Ligaments, tissue that connects bones to other bones
  • Tendons, tissue that connects muscles to bones

Therapeutic Exercises

At PTC we use a wide range of theraputic exercises that focuses on restoring and maintaining strength, endurance, flexiblity, stability and balance. All exercises are tailored towards the patice needs. The goal of therapeutic exercises is to return an injured patient to a fully functioning, pain-free state.

Game Ready

Cryotherapy

At our physical therapy clinic, we prioritize your rehabilitation and recovery following orthopedic injuries or surgery. We offer Game Ready's range of units and wraps, providing you with a comprehensive injury and post-operative treatment plan that incorporates cold therapy techniques to alleviate pain and reduce inflammation.

Electrical Stimulation

E-stim sends mild electrical pulses through the skin to help stimulate injured muscles or manipulate nerves to reduce pain. There are several E-stim modes that use different types of currents to stimulate different nerves in a variety ways, tailored to your needs.

Our clinic frequently utilizes electrical stimulation in order to provide a variety of beneficial healing effects, including:

  • Reducing, eliminating, and/or controlling pain (both acute and chronic)
  • Increasing local circulation
  • Decreasing swelling
  • Improving range of motion
  • Reducing muscle spasm
  • Providing biofeedback (aka improve body awareness)
  • Improving motor coordination
  • Providing neuromuscular re-education
  • Preventing or reversing muscle atrophy (especially after prolonged immobilization, such as a limb being cast as a fracture heals)
