Patellofemoral pain syndrome is commonly seen in athletes and the geriatric community. Common symptoms are for example pain and stiffness, and difficulty in climbing stairs. Some patients may also experience pain in the knees after standing up, sitting for prolonged periods of time may cause symptoms.
